Please note: This course is designed to be taken by psychotherapists licensed through the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) only.

Liane Wood is a Registered Psychotherapist with a private practice in Belleville Ontario Canada. She is also a psychiatric service dog handler and has been involved with working around service animals and therapy animals for over 5 years.
She has seen and experienced the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to these types of animals whether it’s clients/patients trying to get support from their health practitioners where the practitioner may not have enough knowledge in this area, trying to navigate the process of obtaining an animal which is often riddled with hurdles, or working with putting together the required documentation for public access for animals and handlers that maximizes effectiveness without jeopardizing or compromising an individual’s private health information.
In this video, Liane is taking the combination of her work as a psychotherapist with her experiences with service animals to help other psychotherapists understand the complexities of supporting clients well when service animals are needed.
